Hi, I’m Gina. Welcome to my blog! A few things you should know about me are:

I’m 29 years old and I live in Sacramento, California with my husband, Chris. Some people think the idea of living in Sacramento is kind of lame, but I actually love living here: the weather is perfect, there’s lots to do, and it’s affordable.

I graduated from college in December of 2010 with my B.A. in English. I chose English because I love to read and write. In fact, my love for writing is the reason why I started blogging back in 2008.

After I graduated, I started making plans to move to Suwon, South Korea to teach English at an elementary school for a year.  A month before I was scheduled to leave (March 2011), I met Chris on OK Cupid. We spent almost every day together before I moved, and before we knew it, we were in love. We decided to try to make a long-distance relationship work while I was living abroad, and we did.

As for living in South Korea for a year, it was amazing: I gained great job experience, traveled a lot, and grew tremendously as a person. Moving to Korea was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

After I moved back to Sacramento (March 2012), Chris proposed to me. After being engaged for seven months, we got married at San Francisco City Hall on October 26, 2012. Our day was perfect and I am so happy to be married to the man of my dreams.

By day, I work part-time at a non-profit. By night, I work as a server at a fine-dining restaurant. I hope to eventually gain a full-time job in the non-profit sector because I want a career where I can help people in need every day.

When I’m not blogging or spending time with my husband, I love to travel, take pictures, cook/bake, practice yoga, run, read a good book, rock out to ’80s music, and eat French fries.

Thanks again for stopping by my little corner of the internet! It means a lot that you’ve read some of my stories. I hope you decide to stick around.

Love, Gina

  1. Thanks so much for posting about how you enjoy South Korea! Looks like my family will be moving there this summer–my husband is a military contractor. So much of what I read is negative, I feel much better seeing someone actually having a good time and enjoying the experience!
